Gig Photos

Sam's band, September Sets Fire, played at The Connexion. This is actually a church which opens up as a coffeehouse and allows kids to come in and have a place to play their songs. Some song were Christian, some weren't. There were all kinds of acts, Stand up comedy, violinist, etc. But geared towards the young generation and very casual come as you are as most coffeehouses are. I had never heard of this place before but Mike knew the pastor, nothing new there! It was very cool and the food and drinks were free.

So, Sam's band gets up there in the second half of the "show" and I just didn't know what to expect. I mean, I REALLY never thought they would ever play anywhere and it would die out before too long. The band gets started and Sam starts to sing and... HE"S PRETTY GOOD! He has a real nice tone quality and was on pitch the whole time except when he went into his head voice a few times. He acts as if he has been doing this all his life and that it was not big deal at all. I look at Mike and he looked at me and we both started to giggle and just sat there truly amazed! They did two songs total and then we took off. There were a few acts left that had already played in the first half and it was already close to 10:00. Anyway, here are some photos...it was very cool and as you can imagine we were very proud!

Tell Sam: "Awesome Job!!"

Isn't it fun to see your kids doing that stuff!? I love being pleasantly surprised by my kids. That is great.

How cool is that!! Way to go Sam! How blessed we are to have such talented kids. I am praying that God will provide so that we can come and visit for Easter break....then our kids can all sing something together...how cool would that be!
